My wife and I were in Paris recently for 2.5 weeks and loved the coffee there so much that when we returned we just had to have an espresso machine at home. Researched a variety of espresso makers and decided that an automatic machine was what we wanted. We figured that at some point the novelty of measuring, tamping, cleaning, etc., would grow old and our enthusiasm for making espresso (not drinking it) would diminish, so we agreed that fully automatic was the way to go. Bought the Nespresso Romeo on Amazon last week and have used it many times since then. We absolutely love it, and our friends rave about it, too. Nespresso has more than a dozen different flavors/strengths of coffee in their capsules, which you have to use in this machine. I was a bit concerned about that, but my research indicated that the coffee was of very high quality, and my own tasting over the last few days has confirmed it. Terrific coffee, every bit as good as in Paris coffee bars. And it is just so easy to use and clean. Haven't used the steam element for capuccino or lattes yet, but it appears to be fairly simple to employ. Very good instructions in the provided manual and book, and also on line. I highly recommend this product.

My biggest complaint: the Nespresso machine does not have a milk frother whereas the DeLonghi EC155 does. Though I am not a designer, because the design is pump driven--it seems like having a frother would have been relatively easy and could have been incorporated with the elegant D110 design without altering its sleek appearance. Finally, a quick Amazon search tells me that the capsules that are to be used with the Nespresso line are proprietary, so there is not the competition like there is with the ESE pods used by other machines. A quick perusal tells me that the capsules are over $0.60 each, in bulk, while ESE pods can be found for closer to $0.40 online. The lack of frother and the proprietary capsules needed have me taking away 1-star.

Finally, this espresso machine is beautiful, elegant, very quick (you can crank out multiple espressos for a gathering quickly), produces excellent crema, has a small footprint, and is extremely easy to use. You pay a price for all of this and will continue to do so with the proprietary capsules. Again, the PC vs. Mac analogy is a good one.

Put a kettle of distilled or filtered water on stove.
Grind 1/4 cup (adjust for type and preference) of fresh beans. I do about 10 seconds in the Bodum grinder, the key is you want it fairly coarse.
As the water comes to a boil put the ground coffee in press and add just enough hot water to cover and then fill your cups up with hot water to preheat them.
After a minute fill press to within an inch of top.
Let brew for 4 1/2 minutes, stirring occasionally with something that won't scratch surface of press.
Press very slowly, if you meet resistance, raise it up a little and continue.
That's it, you'll be amazed at the results. The variables are going to be the amount of beans that you grind, the amount of time you grind them and the length of time you brew, so keep track of what you do and keep mixing it up until you arrive at perfection.
